Sonic the Hedgehog 2 este un joc de platformă dezvoltat de Aspect și publicat de Sega pentru Master System și Game Gear. Versiunea pentru Master System a fost lansată în Europa în octombrie 1992. Versiunea Game Gear a fost lansată în Europa în octombrie 1992, iar în America de Nord și Japonia în noiembrie 1992. Este o continuare a lui Sonic the Hedgehog pentru Master System și Game Gear.
Versiunea Master System a jocului nu a fost lansată în afara Europei și a Braziliei. Versiunea Master System a fost lansată pentru Consola virtuală a Wii în 2008.
