Legea Matthew Shepard, denumită oficial Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, este o lege a Congresului, adoptată la 22 octombrie 2009 și promulgată de președintele Barack Obama la 28 octombrie. Legea adaugă la legea federală din 1969 privind infracțiunile motivate de ură infracțiunile comise din cauza sexului, orientării sexuale, identității de gen sau dizabilității victimei.
Legea este prima lege federală care oferă protecție juridică persoanelor transgender.
